Principal: Abdi Lidonde

Mr. Lidonde joined Southbridge Public Schools after serving as turnaround principal at
elementary schools in Providence Public Schools. In that role, he developed and
implemented strategies to improve student success, monitor achievement, hire and
evaluate staff and encourage parent involvement.

Mr. Lidonde previously served as an assistant principal in Worcester Public Schools,
where he also worked as a student support team coordinator and turnaround plan
administrator, among other roles.

He holds a Master of Education from American International College and bachelor’s
degrees in English and political science from Old Dominion University, in Norfolk,
Virginia. Mr. Lidonde is currently a Doctoral student at American International College,
studying Educational Leadership and Supervision.
He began his educational career teaching at Goddard School of Science and
Technology in Worcester, teaching at other schools in Worcester before moving into
administrative roles.
